PowerCorps Boston is a paid ($15.75/hour) workforce development program that uses environmental service as a way to teach career and technical skills. Through a mix of classroom learning and, in the field/hands on learning program, participants will have the opportunity to gain the labor skills, certifications, and technical experiences required to enter a range of careers in the green industry.

Corps Members Work On:

  • Park upkeep
  • Trail maintenance/creation
  • Invaise identification and removal
  • Pruning, cutting, trimming trees
  • Environmental conversation
  • Planting – native trees, scrubs, flowers, plants

Corps Members Requirements:

  • Be 18-30 years old
  • Be a Boston resident
  • Have your high school diploma or its equivalent (GED/HiSET)
  • Be unemployed or underemployed and not in college or on a career track
  • Have an interest in outdoor, hands-on training

Corps Members Receive: 

  • $550 weekly stipend
