PowerCorps Boston is a paid ($15.75/hour) workforce development program that uses environmental service as a way to teach career and technical skills. Through a mix of classroom learning and, in the field/hands on learning program, participants will have the opportunity to gain the labor skills, certifications, and technical experiences required to enter a range of careers in the green industry.
Corps Members Work On:
- Park upkeep
- Trail maintenance/creation
- Invaise identification and removal
- Pruning, cutting, trimming trees
- Environmental conversation
- Planting – native trees, scrubs, flowers, plants
Corps Members Requirements:
- Be 18-30 years old
- Be a Boston resident
- Have your high school diploma or its equivalent (GED/HiSET)
- Be unemployed or underemployed and not in college or on a career track
- Have an interest in outdoor, hands-on training
Corps Members Receive:
- $550 weekly stipend
- Monthly T card
- Professional certifications
- Alumni and career services
